Background & History
A native New Mexican, Angelo Valdez, MBA, CLTC, grew up in Grants, New Mexico, before moving to Albuquerque in 1995 to attend the University of New Mexico. He graduated from UNM in 2000 with degrees in Marketing and Production & Operations Management, beginning a professional journey that would ultimately lead him to build his own financial practice.
Before entering the financial services profession, Angelo spent five years in the mortgage industry and more than seven years in the pharmaceutical industry. During this time, he continued his education, earning his Master of Business Administration in 2009. These experiences provided Angelo with a diverse foundation in business, finance, relationship management, and the importance of understanding the individual needs of the people he serves.
His decision to pursue financial services was also deeply personal. After experiencing tragedy within his own family and witnessing the financial consequences that can result when proper planning and protection are not in place, Angelo developed a passion for helping others prepare more thoughtfully for both life's opportunities and its uncertainties. For more than 13 years, that purpose has remained at the heart of his practice.
Family continues to be one of Angelo's greatest influences. He and his wife are proud parents of two teenagers. Their 18-year-old son is a high school senior and varsity wrestler, and their 15-year-old daughter is a sophomore and varsity cheerleader. Angelo remains actively involved in his children's lives, including supporting his son's wrestling journey. As a family, they also enjoy spending time outdoors, including camping, fishing, and archery, golf and hiking.
Angelo's personal and professional experiences have shaped a philosophy centered on family, preparation, discipline, hard work, and taking care of others. Those values continue to guide the relationships he builds and the commitment he brings to helping clients prepare for their futures and the generations that follow.
